Inez Baturo

Artist photographer, translator, publisher, editor. Born in 1966.

Master’s degree in English Philology (Silesian University, 1991).

She lives in Bielsko-Biała. Poland.

     ACTIVITY     

 

Co-founder and Vice-President of the Foundation Centre of Photography (2004 – 2017).  Its President since 2017.

One of organisers of the  FotoArtFestival and its Program Director (2005 – 2017). Its General Director since 2017.

Co-owner of the Baturo Publishing House (1991-2015). 

Co-founder and co-curator the Gallery of Photography B&B in Bielsko-Biała (since 1992).

A member of the Union of Polish Artists Photographers (ZPAF) since 1999.

Vice-President of the Mountain Division of the Union of Polish Artists Photographers (2004-2008).

Curator of the exhibition “The Art of Seeing” (Galeria Fotografii B&B, Bielsko-Biała, 2003)

as well as the International photo contest and exhibition “No Borders” (2005).

Her photographs have been published (among others) in: “Voyage”, “National Geographic”, “Podróże”.

The author the books: “The Beskidy Mountains”, “The Beskids”, “Cieszyn”, “Inez Baturo – Landscape Photography” (2013).

Images published in books: “Polish Mountains”, “Bielsko-Biała”.

Her name is included in the publication – “Masters of Polish Landscape” 

and in prestigious „Women`s History of Photography” by Naomi Rosenblum (Abbeville Press, Nowy York, 2009)

and in “Donne & Fotografia” (Udine Musei, Italy 2018).

.

She has translated into Polish “World History of Photography” by Naomi Rosenblum (Abbeville Press, New York).

One of the founders of the Union of Polish Nature Photographers (in 2006).                

Member of the Forum Agency (Warsaw, Poland). 

Member of the IRIS Photo, the organisation promoting women in arts (Great Britain).

She ran Photo Meetings – workshops on photography for adults (2012-2018).

She organises numerous courses, workshops, meetings and international projects.

More importnat of them: “Co-Existence: Polish-Hungarian Photography Meetings”, “Co-Existence: Polish-Czech Photography Meetings”, “No Borders Award” (Polish, Czech, Slovak, Hungarian, Ukrainian workshops and contest).

She takes landscape photography mainly, but she also took some theatre, fashion, and portrait.
